No bears yet
I got back from the field on Saturday after a week of surveying. This trip was relatively uneventful- no wolves, bears, moose or even caribou to report! Just a lot of slogging though swamps in cold, dreary weather. I loved it. I'll put a few pictures on after this post of the sites we surveyed. And now, I'm headed back out into the field for a 9 day stretch (depending on weather). My first plot is on the Pacific side of the Aleutian peninsula where Misery Creek drains into Yawntarney Bay. The Pacific side is supposed to be steeper, windier, and bear-ier than this side of the peninsula. So, hopefully, I'll have a good bear story to report when I get back.
Thanks for the great notes from y'all. I love knowing people read this thing!
